Representatives from Brazil (Julia), Argentina (Carolina and Federico), and Mexico (Janete) give us a “boots on the ground” view of the alt protein efforts in their respective countries. We hear how they build strategies and coalitions that promote local knowledge exchange and innovation to tackle issues like food sovereignty and climate resilience by reducing reliance on imports and uplifting regional crops, promote equity and participation among women, youth, and smallholders, and promote policies and investment agendas to support inclusive and sustainable protein ecosystems.
