Summary
Africa is at an inflection point; increasing population along with increasing purchasing power offers many more food options and a brighter future for many. Of course food nutrition, accessibility, and affordability are top of mind for these shoppers. We hope that alt protein can play a larger role in fulfilling these needs, but we must be ready with solutions in hand to meet people where they are. We discuss a variety of aspects such as where the consumer is (urban or rural), age (school children to young adult to head of household), and income (from low to high) to name a few.
